When I went to pick up my vehicle after the oil change I questioned the cost of the service, thinking it was still covered under the maintenance package. The woman at the counter became rude and somewhat combative. She said "Well this says you owe $37.00 so I don't know what to tell you. I asked her to please check it since I believed I have two oil changes per year for the first 3 years. After asking who my sales person was (which I purchased the vehicle from Sterling Chevrolet a little over a year ago) she then asked who I scheduled the appointment with. I told her the name of sales person and said I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman I scheduled the appointment with, but I called Monday about 9:00AM if that helps. She then called back and got one of the service personal to investigate. While waiting for the service person I checked my Chevy account and discovered I was incorrect and that I had used my two free oil changes. Turns out it was two free oil changes in the first 3 years, not each year. I told the lady at the counter I looked it up and they were correct I no longer had any oil changes and I was ready to pay. At this time the service person walks in with a couple pieces of paper and before I could even tell her anything she launches into a "your plan only covered this, I don't know what the sales guy told you, if you don't agree take it up with him, etc etc" and hands me the receipts from the previous two oil changes. She had the same rude tone and combative attitude as the lady at the counter. I then told her "Yes you are correct I have a copy of the agreement right here on my Chevy account and it does say two oil changes only not two per year. They expire in 3 years, so I had misheard/misread/understood. Sorry to waste your time but thank you for checking." She then goes on for another minute or so about how she “doesn't know what the sales guy told me bla bla but that's what their paperwork says." To which I simply said again "Thank you for looking into it." I thought to myself I just told you that I was wrong and you right what the heck lady. Why are you being so rude? Because of this experience I don’t know if I will bring my vehicle back to Sterling Chevrolet for maintenance. All my other dealings with Sterling Chevrolet have been great and I would have previously recommended them to anyone. If this is how things go when a customer has a question about a warranty or service plan that's not how you do customer service and not something I want to deal with. I would hate to see how these two individuals would react if there was an actual problem. To be clear I have had no issues with the actual service done to my vehicle or any other employee of Sterling Chevrolet on this visit or any other except for these two on this visit. I have previously had interactions with both these employees in the past as well that were no problematic.
I took my car in because of noises I heard. It was determined that 2 of my tires had broken belts on them. It took 4 days to get the 2 new tires put on my car. I understand it was late in the day and the tires needed to be ordered. Waiting until the next day for them was fine. But the tires did not get put on the truck for the next day, so it was another day. Then, the truck arrived too late in the day with the tires for the employees to put them on my car. So I had to wait another day to pick up my car. It just seems that communication was bad somewhere that caused this long delay in getting the tires. And there was a black hand print on my door interior when I picked it up.
Never recieved a call to let me know my truck was ready for pick up. Had to sign a notice declining work, wheel alignment. I was never told about the alignment prior to then. They tried to charge me for warranty work that was done after the oil change. Felt like the service tech did not thoroughly look for the exhaust leak that I have been hearing, he said there were no signs of a leak and couldn't hear anything. Will probably continue to have the dealership do oil changes for record keeping purposes towards future warranty claims but will start using my local private mechanic for actual work.
A very good experience had an oil change for me in a bit before appointment time always explain any recommendations for next service Jeff and Julie and Walt are very good at their jobs and the technicians are top notch
